On the rough western coast of Ireland, two brothers, living in their father’s house after his recent untimely death in a shotgun “accident”, are locked in a seemingly endless cycle of violent petty squabbles. Can they be saved by the disillusioned Catholic priest or the tough village girl who delivers their liquor and mail? Nothing is sacred in the dark, violent, bleak play that is at the same time, hilariously funny. In The Lonesome West, Martin McDonagh has managed to turn the ugliness of life into a kind of poetry.
This play is for mature audiences only and no children’s tickets will be offered.
